‘Mansarra’: “A single woman does need some help yet she is independent.” – Review by Anuj Kunwar

‘Mansarra’: An entertainer. No cringy contents, a Simple story, a straightforward social context yet beautifully written and beautifully presented. If you think the movie is a bus traveling to the destination of Success, #PraveenKhatiwada is in the driving seat. His performance is outstanding. What a gem of a actor he is; perhaps the makers of Mansarra finally used his potential. He deserves a full paragraph of praise, if someone is reviewing this movie.

Attention to detail, the tiny little things in the movie are the emotions, sheer emotions. And the colloquial conversation of the characters in the movie will thoroughly enjoy you. The dialogues, moreover, the Metaphors the writers used will make you laugh, make you engaged, make you feel a lots of emotions. Don’t miss the little amazing moments the movie that are shown every once in a while, for instance: that one scene when the little boy learns the limbu dance and does some steps at the background by seeing and inheriting that from elders dancing. Just, Amazing.

The movie gives emphasis on several culture yet without any narratives; it makes you feel like intercaste marriage or love is just a normal thing. It makes you feel like what is still being considered as a Social Taboo in many areas of Nepal is never existed at first place at all. Having said that, it also implies to be yourself; to embrace and respect everyone’s culture.

MIRUNA MAGAR, let me be rhetoric first; how can you not admire this girl? MM is beautiful, gorgeous, elegant, magnificent, talented; this is the universal truth. But let me tell you, being her huge admirer; this time I fell in love more with Mansarra than Miruna Magar. And when you fall in love with the Character someone plays more than the person itself, you know how beautifully he or she has performed that character. On top of that; Miruna as Mansarra symbolizes women to be independent. Mansarra, a single woman does need some help yet she is independent. Just because a Woman is helpless doesn’t mean she would sacrifice her body in exchange of help and that should be in the mind of any boy; that is what Mansarra implies. For this, Wait for that one monologue in the movie by Mansarra, which is I believe, is the main theme of the Movie. You have to go to movie to witness that brilliance of the Movie.

Upendra Subba is not only a good writer, he has an amazing ability to execute his words into motion. This is the sort of movies you dream to be the part of it. I mean, even if you are not a movie fanatic or interested in acting; if you ever watch this sort of movie, you’ll get the urge to be there in the movie because it is that beautiful.

Well, Just be yourself and embrace everyone’s culture; A single woman may need help yet she is independent.

‘Mansarra’ is running in cinemas near you.
